Welcome back to another weekend streaming article where I select five players based on hot streaks, pitching/team matchups, or a combination of things to help fantasy owners acquire cheap, low-roster rate (35% or below) production to help win the last two days of their weekly matchups. This week, I’ll be highlighting five players who are scorching hot in the month of July.
Let’s dive into Week 18…
Tommy Pham, OF, Pittsburgh Pirates
Pham is 37-years-old and still sticking around. He’s got a nifty .273/.342/.380 slash line with a 101 wRC+, mostly doing his damage against RHPs. His batting average, mind you, is in line to be his best mark since 2019. He’s currently on fire, riding a nine game hit streak (15-for-33, 1.150 OPS, 219 wRC+ over that span) and has a .400 average on a 198 wRC+ since the start of July. The EV (95 mph), HH% (56%), and barrel% (11%) are all great, too.

Josh Bell, 1B, Washington Nationals
Bell has burst onto the scene of late, turning in a .338/.443/.486 slash line with a 168 wRC+ with nearly as many BBs and Ks and 7 XBH. The wRC+ is tenth best in the National League and he’s only getting better. He has five multi-hit games over the past week and a half and has walked in four consecutive games.

Bradley Blalock, RHP, Colorado Rockies
Blalock, 24, tossed perhaps the best start of his young career against Cleveland, going six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts. Since returning in July, he’s posted a 1.59 ERA and a miniscule 1% walk rate while limiting hard contact (39% HH, 2% barrel rate). He faces the lowly Pirates offense on Sunday.

Sean Burke, RHP, Chicago White Sox
Burke, 25, has enjoyed a decent year thus far with a 4.17 ERA through 105.2 innings. The WHIP (1.41) is elevated thanks to a 10% BB rate, but he’s looked a little better of late on top of increasing his K rate to 25%. Over his past seven starts, he’s given up two or less earned runs in six of them. He’s got a 3.09 ERA over that span and he’s coming off an eight strikeout, one walk performance allowing just 2 earned runs (0.30 FIP) — perhaps his best start over his hot streak — and it came against the Cubs offense.

Chandler Simpson, OF, Tampa Bay Rays
Simpson is electric, point blank, and he’s starting to swing it. Since the start of July, the rookie is slashing .317/.352/.366 with a 101 wRC+ and 10 stolen bases. He scores plenty of runs as well, just over one every other game. If you need a guy to swipe bags and score runs, Simpson is your man.
